Cabochard: a promising range

The “Cabochard” range currently consists of a red wine and a white wine, but should soon be enriched with a rosé. These wines are the result of months of trial and error to find the right grape varieties, the right dosage of CBD and the optimal infusion time. The result ? The white wine, a blend of Ugni Blanc and Colombard, contains 0.25 % of CBD and displays 10% alcohol. Today, we're going to share our opinion and experience of a new product that's been the talk of the town: Burdi W., a wine infused with cannabidiol (CBD), a molecule extracted from hemp. This brilliant idea is the brainchild of Raphaël De Pablo, a French entrepreneur who discovered the benefits of CBD during a trip to Canada. 🍁

🌱 The story behind the project 🌱

Raphaël De Pablo created his company, La Ferme Médicale, in 2018, after learning about the cultivation of hemp in Canada. He now cultivates this plant near Langon, in Gironde, in ideal climatic conditions to obtain a good concentration of CBD. For his hemp-infused wine project, he teamed up with an experienced oenologist, responsible for identifying the base cuvée. ?

🍾 A unique and secret production process 🍾

The choice fell on a 100% Petit Verdot wine, from a specific Bordeaux estate. Each bottle contains 250 mg of CBD. The production process of this drink is kept secret to avoid copies. We simply know that it is an infusion of hemp in jars, from the plantations of La Ferme Médicale. This is where our experience starts to take an interesting turn. ?

A crowdfunding campaign raised funds for the Burdi W. project and demonstrated the enthusiasm aroused by this innovation. The initial goal was to raise €3,500, but the campaign raised more than 20 times that amount! A large part of the 10,500 bottles produced has already been pre-sold, with strong demand from abroad.
